ASIB requires that tanks be maintained in a condition where they are “ready for immediate use.” This includes annual inspections of the internal liner, structural integrity, and the functionality of level indicators. Using a modular steel tank with a liner is often preferred because it avoids the internal rust flakes that could clog sprinkler nozzles.
