Water losses managed by WASPA members typically fall into two main categories:

• Physical (Real) Losses: Caused by pipe leaks, major main bursts, and underground fractures in aging distribution infrastructure.

• Commercial (Apparent) Losses: Caused by illegal water connections, meter tampering, and highly inaccurate or outdated mechanical customer meters.
