From the beginning, SBS Solutions East Africa took the helm in assisting with the design and execution of this project. When Piston Medical’s consultants reached out, we carefully crafted a design that complied with local regulations while meeting the client’s specific needs. The planning phase involved meticulous consideration of site conditions, environmental impacts, and safety measures. By collaborating closely with civil works contractors, we prepared the site to perfection, utilising ring beam drawings and technological aids to guide the process. This seamless co-ordination ensured that all safety standards were met and maintained.
The construction process was a testament to precision and efficiency. Starting with exact measurements to confirm ring beam specifications, we built the topmost ring first, then installed trusses and roof sheets. This method facilitated the incorporation of inlets, overflows, and roof access platforms. The liner was added and lifted with the build, followed by the installation of consecutive rings. Despite the complexity, the entire process was completed in just three weeks, allowing Piston Medical to continue operations without interruption.
The steel water tanks installed at Piston Medical featured several specialised components tailored to the project’s unique requirements. Each tank was equipped with an XR5 Ethylene-based chemical resistant liner and additional nozzles for specific applications. The use of high-quality materials and strict adherence to ISO standards ensured the integrity and durability of the liquid storage solution.
